SPN or TPN — which distribution board do I need?
An SPN (single pole and neutral) board is for single-phase supplies — most homes and small shops. A TPN (triple pole and neutral) board is for three-phase supplies; it can feed three-phase loads and spread single-phase circuits across phases. Count your circuits, add two or three spare ways, and choose the board size from that.

Do I need a changeover switch for a generator?
Yes. A changeover switch makes sure the generator and the mains supply can never be connected together, which protects the generator, the wiring and line workers.
