We supply low-voltage switchgear for homes, buildings and plants — MCBs, RCCBs, RCBOs, isolators, MCCBs, ACBs, contactors, overload relays and motor starters. We are an authorised dealer for Havells and Lauritz Knudsen (L&T), and also supply Siemens, Schneider and Legrand.
Which breaker does which job?
| Device | Protects against | Typical range | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|---|
| MCB | Overload and short circuit | 0.5 A to 63 A (up to 125 A in some ranges) | Final circuits in homes, shops and offices |
| RCCB | Earth leakage (shock and fire risk) | 25 A to 100 A; 30, 100 or 300 mA | Incomer of a home or floor DB |
| RCBO | Overload, short circuit and earth leakage | 6 A to 40 A, usually 30 mA | Individual circuits needing both |
| MCCB | Overload and short circuit, adjustable | 16 A to 1600 A | Main incomers and feeders in buildings and plants |
| ACB | Main protection for large supplies | 800 A and above | Transformer and main LT panels |
Our guide MCB, RCCB, RCBO and MCCB — what each one actually does explains the differences in plain terms.
Which MCB curve should I ask for?
MCBs to IS/IEC 60898-1 come in trip curves. B curve trips quickly and suits lighting and resistive loads. C curve is the common choice for sockets, ACs and general circuits with some inrush current. D curve allows high starting currents and is used for motors, pumps and transformers. If you are not sure, tell us what the circuit feeds.
What do I need for a motor starter?
A typical direct-on-line starter has a contactor, an overload relay set to the motor's full-load current, and protection ahead of it (MCB, MPCB or MCCB). Larger motors use star-delta starters. Send us the motor kW, voltage and starting method and we will put together the parts list with the quotation.
Is genuine switchgear worth the difference?
A breaker that does not trip is worse than no breaker, because people trust it. Buy from an authorised source, check the brand's printing and hologram, and keep the bill — it is what the warranty depends on. As an authorised dealer for Havells and Lauritz Knudsen, we supply stock that comes through the brands' own channel.
How do I order switchgear?
Send your list on WhatsApp — a photo of a handwritten list is fine. We reply with an itemised quotation showing brand, size and price, and confirm what is ready to go.
Quick answers
What is the difference between an MCB and an RCCB?
An MCB trips on overload and short circuit and protects the wiring. An RCCB trips on earth leakage and protects people. Most boards need both, or RCBOs that combine them.
Which RCCB is used in homes?
A 30 mA RCCB is used for protection against electric shock. 100 mA and 300 mA units are used for fire protection on larger installations.
Do you supply MCCBs and ACBs for buildings and plants?
Yes. We supply MCCBs, ACBs, contactors, relays and starters for buildings, factories and tea garden installations. Send the ratings and quantities on WhatsApp for a quotation.
Are you an authorised Havells and L&T dealer?
Yes. Shree Shyam Suppliers is an authorised dealer for Havells and Lauritz Knudsen (L&T), and also an authorised dealer for Mescab.
