Earthing material

We supply earthing material for homes, buildings and plants — copper-bonded and GI earthing electrodes, chemical earthing compound, GI and copper strips and wire, earth pit covers, and lightning protection parts. Good earthing is what lets breakers and RCCBs work, so it is worth doing properly.

Which type of earthing should I use?

TypeWhat it isNotes
Pipe earthingGI pipe driven into the ground with salt and charcoal around itTraditional; needs watering and periodic maintenance
Plate earthingCopper or GI plate buried in a pitTraditional; more digging
Chemical (maintenance-free) earthingCopper-bonded or GI electrode with earthing compoundStable resistance, little maintenance; common for new buildings

The Indian code of practice for earthing is IS 3043. The number of pits and the electrode size depend on the load and the soil — your electrician or consultant should decide; we supply to that spec.

What goes into one earth pit?

  • Earthing electrode (length and diameter as per design)
  • Earthing compound (for chemical earthing)
  • Earth pit cover — cast iron, polymer or concrete
  • GI or copper strip or wire to connect the pit to the main panel
  • Clamps, lugs and test link

Do I need lightning protection?

Tall buildings, isolated structures and buildings on exposed hill sites are at higher risk. A lightning protection system has air terminals on the roof, down conductors and its own earth pits, designed as per IS/IEC 62305. We supply the parts once the layout is designed.

How do I order earthing material?

Send your list on WhatsApp — a photo of a handwritten list is fine. We reply with an itemised quotation showing brand, size and price, and confirm what is ready to go.

Quick answers

What is chemical earthing?

Chemical earthing uses a copper-bonded or GI electrode surrounded by a conductive earthing compound. It keeps a stable, low resistance with little maintenance.

How many earth pits does a house need?

Most homes have at least two earth pits for the electrical system. The exact number depends on the load and the soil — follow your electrician's design.

Why does my RCCB need good earthing?

An RCCB trips when current leaks to earth. With poor earthing, the leakage path is weak and appliances can stay live without tripping.

Do you supply lightning arresters?

Yes — air terminals, down conductor strips and earthing material for lightning protection, supplied to your design.

Have a list? Send a photo.

A photo of the handwritten list is enough. We reply with an itemised quotation — brand, size, price — and confirm what is ready to go.
